Rules Overview

Basic Information

Theme: Each class chooses a theme for decorations and performances

Class Colors:

  • Freshmen (Purple)
  • Sophomores (Red)
  • Juniors (Blue)
  • Seniors (Green)

Two Weeks Before

Hallway Decorations

Points: 5 points for proper advertising + 7/5/3/1 points for attractiveness

  • Must advertise dates and times of all BOTC events and Spirit Week days
  • Each class decorates their assigned hallway section

The Week of BOTC

Spirit Week

Points: 5/3/2/1 points per day

Major Athletic Events

Crowd Support at Major Athletic Events is worth 7/5/3/1 points

Macho Volleyball

Points: 10/8/6/4 points

  • Boys-only tournament
  • Rally scoring to 15 points, best 2 out of 3 games
Powder Puff Football

Points: 10/8/6/4 points

  • Girls-only flag football tournament
  • No blocking or screening allowed
  • Two 12-minute halves

The Main Event

The BOTC Main Event is the culminating event where many competitions take place and the overall winner is determined.

Crowd Support at Major Athletic Events is worth 10/8/6/4 points.

Gym Decorations

Points: 14/10/6/2 points

  • Each class decorates their assigned section of the gym
  • Materials provided by ASB with option to supplement
Performances

Points: 14/10/6/2 points

  • Each class performs a skit, song, or dance related to their theme
  • Maximum time limit of 7 minutes (including setup/cleanup)
  • Will take place at the Main Event
Dodge Ball

Points: 10/8/6/4 points

Teams from each class compete in a traditional dodge ball tournament. Players are out if hit by a ball (except on the head), if they hit an opponent in the head, step over any line, or have their thrown ball caught. Catching a ball brings back the first person in line on that team.

Minor Athletic Events

All held during the Main Event. Points: 7/5/3/1 points each

Dizzy Bat

Two boys and two girls from each class spin around a bat several times before attempting to run or complete tasks while dizzy

Stroke the Boat

Five boys and five girls from each class participate in a team race that simulates rowing a boat on land through coordinated movements

Skin the Snake

10 boys and 10 girls from each class line up, reach between their legs to hold hands with the person behind them, and then the last person lies down as the line backs up over them, creating a challenging team coordination exercise

Mystery Game

A surprise competition announced at the BOTC Main Event.
